What Happened When Three Women Watched Porn For The First Time The first time can be so awkward — and hilarious. Women who have never watched porn view adult film classics like “Deep Throat” and “Debbie Does Dallas” in this BuzzFeed video. Their reactions range from amusement to disbelief — “that’s got to be fake.” The video cites a study indicating that just 8 percent of women have seen pornography online. But perhaps the other 92 percent should reconsider. According to a small social media survey of its followers by sex toy company Ann Summers, couples who watched X-rated films together said they felt more committed. And 85 percent of women said porn helped them escape. If sexual release is the goal, there’s more good news: Dr. Lauren Streicher, an Associate Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Northwestern University and author of “Sex Rx: Hormones Health And Your Best Sex Ever,” says masturbation helps women sleep, de-stress and be more comfortable with their bodies.
When there comes a blizzard, New Jersey will milk the lizard. As snowstorm Juno rolled across the Northeast earlier this week, Web traffic on adult site PornHub increased more in New Jersey than in any other state in the area. The site’s data analytics team said in a blog post that Web traffic in New Jersey, which wasn’t actually hit that hard by the storm, shot up 26 percent higher than average on Tuesday, when many of the region’s residents were stuck indoors. Just as an aside, New Jersey wasn’t even hit that hard by the storm, Here are New Jersey’s impressive snow-day results, compared to nine other states: Following closely are Connecticut and New York, each with traffic increasing on the site by 20 percent or more. New Jersey really shows its dominance when traffic increases are examined across different devices. The state’s porn-viewers watched in higher percentages than usual via desktop, phone and tablet. While most states registered a dip in traffic around noon, likely to break for lunch or enjoy the idyllic snowfall with a bout of sledding or snowshoeing with friends, New Jersey actually saw a 50 percent traffic increase. Now that’s dedication.
Last month, I wrote a story lamenting the sorry lack of quality porn for women. I am now here to tell you… I was wrong. Very wrong. Shamefully wrong. And I’m not too proud to admit it. Within days of the post going up, I was inundated with emails and tweets gently telling me just how wrong I was, and from those who know best: women in the trenches of the adult film industry, working tirelessly to create good porn for other women like me. And just like that, my frustrated lament became an earnest education. In the mail, I received–much to the amusement of my partner–a box of porn DVDs. They were sent by Jacky St. James, one of those women on the frontlines of female-oriented adult film production. I immediately curled up on the couch to watch a rom-com sex romp called The Friend Zone. And, well… it was good. Like, really good. It had legitimate production values. The acting ranged from just fine to truly impressive. The script was funnier than most mainstream rom-coms in theaters today (Hollywood producers, take note). And… what’s this? Is that a sex scene involving people who actually seem to care about one another? Is that woman being respected as she’s being pleasured? Is that a condom I see? The experience was, in a word, a revelation, satisfying in every desired way. After The Friend Zone, I dove in to the erotica of FrolicMe, featuring gorgeously rendered shots of men and women in the throes of passion, including one video of a woman, bathed in warm lighting, pleasuring herself beside the window of her tranquil country home. Maybe I’m the only woman in the world who was unaware content of such quality actually existed. Maybe I’m the only one who had spent many a frustrated nights on Pornhub, marveling at how far removed from woman-friendly something labeled “woman-friendly” could be. But I’m going to guess I’m not alone; that other women, too, have clicked their way through a barrage of cheap, degrading, not-in-the-least-bit-arousing porn videos, feeling not only sexually unfulfilled, but frustrated by an industry’s unconscionable inability to respect the sexual desires of women–not to mention men interested in sex with emotional resonance and actual passion. It was an education I needed to share, so I reached out to four of the women who led me to this sexual awakening, and probed […]
Kelly Shibari, a big, beautiful woman, adult film actress, and sexual educator for gals of every size has the honor of being featured on Penthouse in all her rock and roll glory proving once and for all that beauty comes in all shapes, sizes, and ethnicities. The June issue hit the stands today everywhere Penthouse products are sold (Barns and Noble, 7-Eleven, etc). Yes, you read that correctly. The June issue is out at the end of April. Go figure! And it’s about time adult magazines give readers more than just the expected cookie-cutter centerfolds! I mean, who wants to stick to just one flavor ad nauseum when there are so many tasty choices to choose from? Even the cover is a departure from the usual boudoir chic showing Shibari looking as if she’s about to blow the roof off an arena at her own concert. “It’s not the picture I would’ve picked” laughs Shibari. “Penthouse – everyone is usually scantily clad – very much in lingerie, you know what I mean, bikinis and such, and the managing editor, Eric (Danville) was like ‘I want THAT photo to be on the cover’, and I was like, “Okay”. The photo is a reflection, according to Shibari, of Danville’s own rock and roll personality. It’s theatrical, commanding, and in-your-face. It’s also intriguing and inviting which will seduce and lure the curious and please those who revel in the fuller figure. “It’s a striking cover, and I’m very, very happy with it.” Kelly Shibari was not an unknown to Penthouse and Danville. She’s known some of the players for the past few years collaborating on projects and public relations. So when the decision by Penthouse was made to finally shake things up, Shibari was the first to come to mind. “They’ve profiled non-adult performers in the past, BDSM performers like my friend January Seraph for their main magazine, but they’ve never really touched on a lot of Alt or non-mainstream performers, and…I don’t know if it’s because I’m a little bit different. I’m older. So my take on adult entertainment is kinda steeped in – to the point, I used to watch in the 90s and the late 80s. The kind of porn I watched was for entertainment, kind of just fantasy-based storylines so it wasn’t meant to be a replacement for sex education. A lot of kids these days watch a lot […]
Mirror mirror on the wall, who’s the sexiest of them all? It’s the viewer’s choice when it comes to this naughty fairy tale from Wicked Pictures and Director Axel Braun. Might it be the vain queen played by jessica drake or Snow White played by Riley Steele? Not your typical work of porn at all. Sure, there’s lots of sex, but it’s couched in an actual story with period costumes that allows us all to think “so this is what happens behind castle doors!” The introduction of flirty fairies vying for the King’s staff kicks off this new genre of adult entertainment. This variety of porn is far more appealing to women – a heretofore barely tapped demographic in the industry. Women love a good story, and a good fairy tale about good versus evil, good sex versus evil sex (both are pretty darn good!), and the ultimate goal – love, will have women downloading sexy fairy tales to the absolute delight of their significant others. Costumes and makeup in this movie are vibrant and fun. Maybe Wicked can offer the costumes for sale for a little role play? One male friend noticed the cinematography as far superior to the regular back-room porn. He felt more like he was watching an actual movie, and indeed, it does view as a real movie experience. He shares that “there’s more going on than a few words and then just sex. There’s foreplay and it’s more appealing this way.” This coming from a guy! A straight guy! The musical score is to be commended as well since it does what a good movie musical score should do – enhance the mood of the scenes and carry the viewer along. Definitely not the funky 70s-style music most people immediately identify with porn. Drake makes for a wonderful wicked queen – controlling, sassy, and dominant. Steel makes for a beautiful Snow White and manages to be the innocent girl which is quite a feat in an adult film. The Huntsman, played by Barret Blade reminds me of Dave Navarro, but brawnier and with a mock-British accent! Also, some gore makes an appearance when the queen whips out a bloody beating heart and proceeds to take a bite. Kudos to Braun for adding a little horror to heighten the sex appeal of the film. There really is a little something for everyone in Snow White. “The […]
Citizen Brick, a web-based entrepreneur based on offering custom Lego sets for customers, has released a strip club set. The set, entitled with the tongue-in-cheek “The Citizen Brick Center For the Performing Arts,” is selling for $275. It is not officially endorsed by Lego, but it is selling like hotcakes. The set includes a DJ, two female dancer minifigs, and one male dancer, who wears a bowtie and sports a ridiculously hairy chest, not to mention his amazing ‘70s porn ‘stache. Dude looks like Ron Burgundy is what we’re saying. There are a total of 80 printed pieces that include hot pink leopard print, holographic wall tiles, and working LED lights. Everything is awesome in this set is what we’re saying. Lego does not endorse these types of sets as they try to focus on making sets for a younger demographic. This is the company that rejected a fan push for a Firefly set because of the show’s darker content, after all. That’s where custom set builders like Citizen Brick come in, however. They operate in a gray area that, while not officially approved by Lego, they can still operate mostly unbothered so long as they don’t go too far. Site owner Joe Trupia told the Huffington Post that he’s already sold a couple hundred of the set. His site has also created such adult-themed sets as Breaking Bad, though it isn’t referred to directly as such. Other sites have followed through on similar projects, including the aforementioned Firefly set, because there is still a demand for these sorts of sets, official or not.. Lego has been under fire recently for their lackluster attempts at courting the female demographic recently, so it makes sense to avoid being seen as officially endorsing a set based around strippers. So while it seems unlikely that Emmett will be frequenting the establishment himself, You can still set it up and have your own minifigs go in and enjoy themselves.
